Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan has instructed all the District SPs to ensure peace and tranquillity at any cost in a state level law and order review meeting was held at the conference room of Dhalai SP Office, where all the top brass of the police were present. He also emphasised on the need of coordination among the district SPs as well as proper and judicious utilisation of the TSR and central para military personnel.
District SPs of all eight districts of the state were present in the meeting. Among senior officers from the Headquarters, Anurag, DGP/Intelligence, Carey Marak, IGP, TSR, Manchak Ipper, DIGP, Range and Krishnendu Chakravertty, DIGP, Intelligence were also present in the meeting.
He categorically instructed District SPs to remain absolutely alert as far as Ethnic and Communal issues are concerned and must not allow any such situation to aggravate. DGP was categorical in instructing District SPs to personally visit the spot or scene of crime which is grave in nature.
The meeting assumes significance in view of the recent Gandacherra incident and upcoming Panchayat polls.
The meeting discussed in threadbare law and order situation of the state in view of ensuing Panchayat Election and as well as preparedness of the forces.
All the District SPs presented their preparatory actions before the DGP and other senior officers.
Ranjan emphasized on coordinated efforts and intelligence based actions.
He clinically analysed the recent Gandachhera turmoil. DGP instructed that strong measures should be taken against the mischief -mongers and trouble makers. He made it clear that peace and tranquility should be maintained at any cost.
DGP(Int) Anurag issued necessary instructions to District SPs in the run up of forthcoming Panchayat Election and specifically mentioned that each and every situation should be deftly handled by Police. He mentioned that coordination amongst CAPF/TSR/ Civil Police should be maximum.
DIGP(Range) and DIGP(Intelligence) also participated in the deliberations and shared vital information in connection with Panchayat Election as well as LO situation of the state.
