President Droupadi Murmu today said though the Central government has a large number of schemes to uplift all sections of the poor, some of those are not reaching most of the primitive tribal groups due lack of a proper delivery channel. She said, the primitive tribal population, especially in Odisha is still living in distress conditions as many Central schemes on health, education, sanitation, and drinking water are not reaching them.

The President, on the second day of her four-day visit to her home state Odisha, arrived this morning at Raisuan airstrip in Keonjhar district in a special aircraft and met the Juang tribal community members residing in Gonasika Kadalibadi village. She urged the Juang tribals to educate themselves so as to take advantage of all the Central schemes. She said the Central government is giving plenty of funds for the development of the primitive tribes. Smt. Murmu said the country can prosper only if all the primitive tribal people are uplifted socially and economically.

After the President is scheduled to offer prayers at the Gupta Ganga temple and the Brahmaswara temple. Later in the evening, the President will address the 53rd convocation of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar and stay at Raj Bhawan.
