The National Lok Adalat is sitting in the state on December 9, 2023. Apart from the Tripura High Court, the Lok Adalats will sit in all district and sub-divisional court premises of the state.

A total of 16,988 cases will be taken up for disposal in 67 benches during the Lok Adalat. This includes 5,227 cases related to pre-litigation disputes and 11,761 cases pending in court. 5,227 Bank Debt Repayment Cases, 406 Motor Accident Compensation Cases, 4 Consumer Court Cases, 10,890 Arbitrable Criminal Dispute Cases, 232 Matrimonial Dispute Cases, 128 Cheque Bounce (NI Act) Cases, Others 85 civil cases and 16 personnel related cases will be taken up for disposal.

A bench will sit in Tripura High Court. 82 cases will be taken up for disposal in this bench. Agartala court premises will have a maximum of 19 benches in the Lok Adalat. Notices have already been given to both parties in the case.

 Normally there will be a help desk in the premises to help the citizens. Paralegal volunteers will assist people who have been served notices at the court premises. From December 4, 2023, the process of pre-understanding of Lok Adalat-related cases has started in all offices of law enforcement authorities.

The preliminary understanding process will continue till December 8. Member Secretary of Tripura State Legal Services Authority Jhuma Datta Chowdhury has requested all concerned to take advantage of the settlement of the cases through negotiation in the National Lok Adalat quickly and without legal expenses.
