The Tripura government is now ready to take the bulls by the horns if any quarter tries to throw a spanner on its stride on the fast track development. That the government is determined not allow any mischief to deter the infrastructure development process or extension of PMAY like schemes became quite clear when Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in an unprecedented way warned the brick kiln owners of not increasing the price of the brinks.
On Sunday Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb made no bones in his warning as he sent a clear and stern message while addressing a public rally in Sabroom : “The brick kiln owners have started a new ploy. They are saying that prices of bricks will be increased as coal is not available.”
The Chief Minister continued and said, “I am warning the brick kiln owners that Government will not allow any such attempt to inflate the brick prices. If anyone increases the price, steps will be taken after investigation.”
Apart from brick kiln owners, he also cautioned other traders engaged in construction material trading. Deb said, “Under the PMAY, sanctions were given for construction of large number houses for the beneficiaries. However, any attempt is made artificially to increase the prices of construction materials, stern actions will be taken against the offenders”, he warned.
