Tripura government signed a memorandum of Understanding with Unacademy of Bangalore for preparing women in recruitment of Army’s commission rank.

Education minister Ratanlal Nath said that there was no opportunity for women to join the Commission Ranks of Army till then. The women were being recruited only in healthcare and other medical services. But, the Supreme Court passed a judgment on September 22 last allowing the women to join full-time commission ranks.

“The MoU has been signed between the Education department and Unacademy so that the state’s women get opportunity through proper training,” Nath told the media.

As per the agreement, the girls who have passed Higher Secondary or studying in Class XII (born between 2003 and 2006) would have the opportunity for online registration. Besides, the unmarried women would also have an opportunity to apply online.

Among the registered aspirants, the Unacademy would impart training to 250 candidates selected through tests for national level examination of National Defence Academy or defence related examination in two batches.

Nath, 125 candidates for November session of the current year and another 125 candidates for May-2022 Session would be imparted training.

The online applications may be submitted through www.upsconline.nic.in by the candidates of Arts, Science and Commerce streams. Friday is the last date for submission of applications for the November session, Nath told the media.
