The Tripura State Co-operative Bank (TSCB) has confirmed that its recruitment process for 156 positions will proceed smoothly after a legal dispute over the 33 percent women’s reservation policy was resolved.

The selection process was stalled due to a writ petition challenging the implementation of the reservation policy. The petition claimed that the reservation was applied only to the Unreserved (UR) category instead of being distributed horizontally across UR, SC, and ST categories, as mandated by the Tripura government.

During a High Court hearing on March 5, TSCB assured compliance with the policy and sought assistance from the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to revise the final selection and waitlist. Following the court’s decision to dispose of the case, the bank is now awaiting IBPS’s updated list before issuing offer letters to selected candidates.

Addressing a press conference in Agartala, TSCB Chairman Nagadhiraj Datta, Managing Director Bhajan Chandra Ray, and General Manager Aparna Debbarma reiterated their commitment to a fair recruitment process.
