Tripura Police seized Yaba tablets worth ₹5 crore and arrested 21 individuals during a special anti-narcotics drive. A team led by SDPO Sadar DP Roy raided a suspected drug dealer’s residence on Thursday, recovering 1.6 lakh Yaba tablets.

Speaking at the West Agartala Police Station, Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar K stated that a confidential tip-off led officers to the residence of Md Babul Miah (45) in Mahesh Khala, Chandinamura. During the raid, police arrested Miah along with two associates, Shipon Hossian (26) of Bishalgarh and Sanjay Miah (42) of Chandinamura.

“They will be presented in court with a request for police remand. Further interrogation will help us uncover the larger network behind this operation,” Kumar added.

Over the past eight days, Tripura Police have intensified their anti-drug drive, executing multiple raids across the state. During these operations, authorities confiscated 1.6 lakh Yaba tablets, 1,078 bottles of banned cough syrup, and 66 grams of heroin. Additionally, several mobile phones, motorcycles, and cash were seized.
