Proposed Forensic Science University in the state would generate income scopes for around 7000 to 8000 people as well as government jobs for 300 to 500 people, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
“ There is only one such Forensic Science University- that is only Gujarat. Tripura will have the second such varsity in the entire region. This will naturally attract students from South East Asia to our Forensic varsity as it will have all the facilities relating to this particular science available .”
The University is being set up in Tripura on 50 acres land at an expenditure of Rs. 350 crore; the Centre would sanction Rs. 100 crore at the initial stage, Deb said, adding that around 4000 students would have the opportunity to study in the proposed Varsity in the next four years.
He was addressing a BJP’s joining programme at Jolaibari Higher Secondary School ground in South Tripura where 1583 people from 508 families joined the saffron camp. The rally drew a huge gathering, especially the presence of women was noticeable.
