Tripura lifted the laurel of 1st prize in the Group-B section of the National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation along with first position among Group 4 states in the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award 2024 (NECA).
Ritesh Guha Roy, a student of Class 10 of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir from Agartala won the 1st prize in Group B (Class 8-10) competition held throughout the country. The 2nd and 3rd winners were Nistha Priyam Sharma (Class IX), Gurukul Grammar Sr Secondary School, Guwahati (Assam) and Rudransh Jindal (Class X), of St Edward’s School, Simla (Himachal Pradesh).
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar gave away the awards to the winners of the National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation 2024 on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day 2024, on Saturday.
Ritesh’s artwork was selected as the best for its creativity and strong message on energy conservation.
He received from the Vice President a Certificate of Merit, a Gold Medal, a Laptop and cash prize of Rs 1,00,000
On the occasion, Union Minister of State of Power and New & Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik, Secretary, Ministry of Power and other senior dignitaries of the Ministry were also present. Gurdeep Singh, CMD, Maj Gen (Retd) R.K. Jha, (Rtd), Director (P) and other Senior officials from NEEPCO attended the event. They congratulated the winners.
The National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation was organized by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the aegis of the Ministry of Power. The NEEPCO was the nodal agency for conducting State level competitions in four states, Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Mizoram. Approximately 70 lakhs students participated in the Competition all over the Country.
