The central government’s “PM E bus service” initiative aims to revolutionize public transportation and reduce environmental impact. Under this program, 10,000 electric buses will operate in 169 cities across India. In conjunction with the e-bus deployment, the government plans extensive infrastructure improvements in 181 cities throughout the country. The projected cost for this comprehensive project is a staggering Rs 57,613 crores. Of this amount, the central government will provide Rs 20,000 crores, with the remaining expenses to be covered by the respective state governments.
Efficiency through Public-Private Partnership (PPP)
The e-bus service will be operated as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, ensuring efficient management and optimal resource utilization. This partnership model is expected to foster innovation and enhance service delivery.
