Holy Cross School, Agartala has organized an Exhibition-cum-Competition resonating the G20 theme of “One Earth, One Family, One Future”.  Breaking away from the mundane, Holy Cross took the liberty of using this platform to bring to the very doorstep of the children of Tripura, their role in Sustainable Development.

At the opening ceremony, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha lit the prayer lamp after a devotional dance to the Adiyogi and Nataraj forms of Shiva.  In his message, Dr. Saha expressed his appreciation for the humanitarianism shown by Holy Cross School in the venture to spread awareness among the youth about their responsibility, accountability, and respect for the planet. He also congratulated all the participating schools for their endeavor to work towards innovations to sustain a healthy planet.

Fifteen schools participated in bringing out various facets of how they can contribute towards saving our Earth.  Montfort School, Agartala  brought forward and an air-purification system; Agartala International school made a project on water conservation; Don Bosco, Agartala had a seismology system in a smart city; Bhavan’s Tripura Vidya Mandir worked on Pyrolysis; Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School had a Smart Echo Band Rover for Sustainable Development;  Swami Dhananjoydas Kathiababa Mission School had ideas on Digital Sustainable Agricultural solutions for our farmers;  Ram Krishna Mission School brought out ideas on  drain water management;  Assam Rifles Public School had a plan for their own school – totally self-sustained on solar power.  Many more schools participated, and all their ideas were very ingenious indeed.

Holy Cross School had their own corner to showcase their projects.  Among the best were the ones on ‘Future of Farming’ using reflection of solar rays for farming and conservation of carbon from the air to make printer ink besides the Autonomous Ocean Cleaning Robots.   There were a few stalls for games and a food court on the campus as well for the entertainment of the children and their parents.
