Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha held the 54th Mukhyamantri Samipeshu session, addressing citizens’ medical and social grievances directly and ensuring immediate action through senior officials, reinforcing his commitment to accessible, people-oriented governance across the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha once again demonstrated his commitment to citizen welfare through the 54th episode of Mukhyamantri Samipeshu, a flagship public grievance redressal initiative that allows citizens to interact directly with the Chief Minister. The session, held on Wednesday at his official residence, came right after the conclusion of Durga Puja festivities, reaffirming the government’s continuous engagement with the people of Tripura.

The Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme has become an effective platform for citizens from different parts of the state to bring their problems directly before the Chief Minister. From health-related challenges to financial constraints and social welfare concerns, the event serves as a bridge between governance and the grassroots, ensuring that administrative responses are both swift and humane.

During today’s session, several individuals met Dr. Saha to share their personal grievances, particularly related to medical and financial distress. Each case received immediate attention, with the Chief Minister issuing on-the-spot instructions to relevant officials to ensure speedy resolution.

Among the attendees, Tapas Roy from Mohorchhara in Teliamura sought urgent medical support for his ailing son. Responding promptly, Dr. Saha consulted with the Medical Superintendent of GB Hospital, directing officials to make necessary arrangements so that the child could receive proper treatment within the state. This proactive response highlighted the Chief Minister’s emphasis on accessible and affordable healthcare for all citizens.

Similarly, Mahua Roy from Ramnagar, Agartala, requested help for her daughter’s medical treatment. The Chief Minister assured her of comprehensive support, reflecting the administration’s sensitivity to the healthcare needs of ordinary families.

Another visitor, Rinku Sarkar from Barjala, Agartala, shared her family’s financial difficulties in managing her husband’s medical expenses. The Chief Minister not only promised medical aid but also instructed the Social Welfare and Social Education Department to extend necessary financial assistance under available welfare schemes. This dual approach — combining health intervention with social support — underscored the holistic nature of the government’s outreach.

Other citizens, including Dulal Sen from Dhanpur in Sonamura and Milan Pal from Ramnagar, also shared their grievances during the interactive session. Each participant left the meeting assured that their concerns would be duly addressed through the coordinated efforts of the respective government departments.

The event was attended by several senior officials, ensuring that the instructions given by the Chief Minister could be acted upon immediately. Among the key attendees were Tapas Roy, Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department; Dr. Tapan Majumdar, Director of Health Services; Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent of GB Hospital; Dr. Debashree Debbarma, Medical Superintendent of IGM Hospital; and Dr. Shiromani Debbarma, Medical Superintendent of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Center. Their presence underlined the administrative seriousness with which the grievances are handled during each session.

Since its inception, Mukhyamantri Samipeshu has emerged as a model of participatory governance in Tripura, bringing transparency, accountability, and empathy to public administration. The initiative enables the Chief Minister to maintain direct communication with citizens without bureaucratic barriers, thereby strengthening the trust between the government and the people.

Dr. Saha has consistently maintained that good governance begins with listening to the people. By personally hearing citizens’ problems and ensuring prompt solutions, he continues to set a precedent for responsive leadership. The recurring success of Mukhyamantri Samipeshu not only reflects administrative efficiency but also mirrors the Chief Minister’s vision of an inclusive and people-centric government.

As the 54th edition concluded, participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to directly approach the state’s top leader. For many, it was not merely an official meeting but a moment of relief — knowing that their voices had reached the highest level of governance.

With every edition, Mukhyamantri Samipeshu reinforces the idea that effective leadership lies in accessibility, compassion, and action — values that continue to define Dr. Manik Saha’s tenure as the Chief Minister of Tripura.
