Tripura BJP staged a massive protest rally in Agartala against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing the opposition of working with anti-India forces and attempting to destabilize the nation. Senior BJP leaders, ministers, and thousands of party workers joined the demonstration supporting democratic values.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday organized a massive protest rally across the streets of Agartala, drawing thousands of party workers, leaders, ministers, and supporters. The demonstration was held to protest against Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, with BJP leaders accusing him of acting against the country’s interests and undermining democratic values.
The protest march began from the BJP State Headquarters and passed through several important roads of Agartala before concluding at Paradise Chowmuhani. During the rally, BJP workers raised slogans against Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, alleging that recent political activities led by the opposition were aimed at weakening India with the support of anti-national forces.
The demonstration witnessed the presence of BJP’s General Secretary (Organisation) for Assam and Tripura, Rabindra Raju, Tripura BJP President and MLA Abhishek Debbarma (Debroy), newly appointed BJYM President Arindam Deb, Ministers Ratan Lal Nath and Sudhangshu Das, along with party General Secretaries Chandan Debnath, Bipin Debbarma, and Bhagaban Das. Several MLAs, including Chief Whip Kalyani Roy and Antara Deb Sarkar, also participated in the rally.
Addressing the gathering and later speaking to the media in front of the Congress Bhavan, BJP State president Abhishek Debroy strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi’s recent protest outside the Prime Minister’s official residence in New Delhi. He described the demonstration as politically motivated and contrary to democratic values and political decorum.
Debroy alleged that the opposition was attempting to exploit student concerns over examination paper leaks for political gains. He claimed that anti-India forces, including what he referred to as the “deep state” and financier George Soros, were working in coordination with opposition leaders to weaken India’s global standing.
According to Debroy, the central government had acted swiftly in cases related to examination paper leaks, arresting those responsible and initiating necessary legal action. He asserted that the issue was being unnecessarily politicized to mislead the youth.
Drawing comparisons with past political movements, Debroy said the opposition was trying to recreate situations similar to political developments witnessed in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. However, he maintained that India’s democratic institutions remain strong under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He further claimed that the anti-paper leak protests in Delhi had deviated from student issues and were being used as a platform to target Hindutva and create political instability. BJP and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), he said, would continue working to prevent young people from being influenced by what he termed misleading political campaigns.
The large-scale rally reflected the BJP’s effort to mobilize its cadre in support of the party’s political stand while reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding democratic values and national interests.
