Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday said that the state government has adopted a scientific mechanism to mitigate road accidents. For that, the government is in consultation with an International organization working in this field, said Deb.
Speaking at the inaugural session of a blood donation camp organized at West Tripura DM office to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and raise awareness about schemes like Beti Bachao, Beti padhao etc. Deb said, “Chief Secretary has spoken with the international organization to devise scientific technologies for mitigating road accidents. According to the data available with me, the number of accidents have decreased significantly compared to previous years”.
“The international experts will guide the state government as to how the road accidents could be reduced scientifically. We are working in that direction”, Deb further added.
Hitting out at the previous Left government, Deb drew a comparison of the policies and programmes of both governments and explained the difference his administration has successfully brought about.
“Today the former Chief Minister stakes claim over each and every project this government is opening. But, he must know he started something decades back and ended his term without completing the task. Many projects were started in years like 2008 and 2009 and left half done. After this government came to power, all these half done projects got completed in record time. All of this became possible due to the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”, said Deb.
On the connectivity, Deb said, “earlier Tripura had only one lifeline. Today, seven routes of connectivity have been opened for the state. This has not happened automatically, this has happened due to the consistent efforts of the government”.
