US President Donald fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Q Brown, the highest-ranking officer in the country last night. In a post on social media, Trump thanked general Charles ‘CQ’ Brown for over 40 years of service to the country and wished him and his family well for the future.

Trump also nominated Air Force Lieutenant General Dan “Razin” Caine as the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Caine, a career F-16 pilot and national security expert, has held various combat roles and special operations positions. Most recently, he served as the associate director for military affairs at the CIA.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is the nation’s top military officer and the primary military advisor to the President, the Secretary of Defense, and the National Security Council. Brown, the second Black general to hold the position, had been dealing with the war in Ukraine and conflicts in the Middle East during his tenure. He had held the post since October 2023, after being nominated by then-President Joe Biden.
