Landslip : Worker buried alive
In a tragic incident a worker was buried alive under the landslip while another was injured in Pratapgarh area of Agartala on Friday. They were engaged in earth cutting at a private dwelling.
Chitta Sarkar (50) of Charipara was killed on the spot when a huge chunk of earth came crumbling down on him from an upland . The NDRF personnel were called and they could rescue another victim Pranay Das (25) of Sonamura . Pranay sustained injuries. He was later discharged from the hospital.
According to local sources, the incident took place when the workers were cutting a trench for building construction at the house near the Satsangh Ashram when the accident happened.
Farewell given to Justice Talapatra
Tripura High Court Bar Association accorded a grand farewell to Justice Subhasish Talapatra on Friday . Justice Talapatra he had been transferred to Odisha.
On 13 September 2013, Subhashis Talapatra joined as a permanent judge of the Tripura High Court. He was a judge of the Tripura High Court for almost nine years. Justice Subhasis Talapatra has been transferred to the Orissa High Court as recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium a few days ago.
On Friday, speaking at his farewell programme, Justice Subhashis Talapatra highlighted his journey in the judiciary as well as his practice life in the State. He stressed the growing need of shouldering more responsibilities for the welfare of society and the State. Justice Talapatra wished every one of the fraternity for a wonderful journey ahead.
Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Indrajith Mohanty, Justice Arindam Lodh, Justice Justice T. Amarnath Goud and Justice S.G. Chattopadhyay, Advocate General Siddhartha Shankar Dey, senior lawyers and president and secretary of Tripura High Court Bar Association and members of other lawyers’ bodies including Shankar Deb and Pijush Biswas.
