While the ruling party is taking time to announce the candidate list, the organisational activities and poll campaigns are going on in full swing in four poll-bound constituencies- Agartala, Bordowali, Surma and Jubarajnagar.

In the meantime the students’ body of BJP, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Tripura state committee, which took part in the three-day long national executive meeting at Shimla, now aimed for 60000 memberships in the state in addition to other activities in the education sector.

Addressing a press conference on Friday evening, a representative of the students’ body said that a total of five members from Tripura took part in the three-day long executive meet at Shimla, commenced from May 27 last.

During the meeting at least four proposals were passed which include issues related to education, he said, adding that series of issues were discussed in the meeting including the role of youth in making India self-reliant and how a youth can provide employment to other people.

“We made sure that the ABVP will work on restricting immoral intervention of state governments in the state varsities and central universities established in different states of the country. We also stressed on ensuring proper implementation of the National Education Policy of the central government,” he told reporters.

He also said that, aiming to strengthen the organisation, the ABVP in Tripura shall focus on 60000 membership drive. Apart from this the ABVP also decided to take an initiative of collecting data from the 18 years and above students from the state through google form for the purpose of blood donation, he said.

He however said that several other initiatives had been taken up during the three-day long executive meeting at Shimla for the welfare of the students across the country.
