
Indian Wells Open: Bhambri & Göransson Secure Pre-Quarterfinal Spot

In Tennis, India’s Yuki Bhambri and his companion André Göransson of Sweden have advanced to the Men’s Doubles pre-quarterfinals of the Indian Wells Open in California, United States. The Indian-Sweedish duo defeated Jan Zieliński of Poland and Sander Gillé of Belgium this morning.
After dropping the first set 3-6, Bhambri and Göransson staged a strong comeback, winning a closely contested second set 7-6 before sealing the victory with a 10-8 triumph in the tie-breaker. The duo will next face second seeds, Harri Heliövaara of Finland and Henry Patten of United Kingdom tonight.
Earlier, veteran Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna and his Croatian partner Ivan Dodig suffered an early exit from the tournament. They lost to Tomáš Macháč of Czechia and Jack Draper of the United Kingdom, 6-3, 6-4, in the Men’s Doubles first round.
