The state government is working giving priority to tribal welfare. Emphasis has been given on the cultural development as well as the improvement of quality of living of the tribals, enunciated Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after inaugurating two-day 20th State-Level Buisu Festival today organized by Tripura Chubalai Buthu at Hokutwisa English Medium HS School of Longtharai Valley sub-division. He said, under the leadership of our great Prime Minister, a people’s government has been formed in the state in 2018. At present, the government of 37 lakh people is working in the state. Large number of tribals reside in the state. He said, the present government has renamed Baramura as Hathai Kotor and Gandachara as Gandatwisa.
The Chief Minister said, earlier, the development of the Northeastern region was not as expected. Massive development is taking place now. The state of Tripura had a government for 25 years. But development in tribal populated Dhalai district area never happened. However, the present government has been working to develop this region as a result of which improvement can be seen in the areas.

The government has brought 1 thousand 300 crore rupees fund from Asian Development Bank for the development of the tribals of the state. Free drinking water connection is being provided under Jal Jeevan Mission to every household of tribal areas. Earlier, the mothers and sisters had to walk long distance to fetch water. Now that problem is reducing. The state government is working with planning to provide free drinking water connection to every household in the state. Paver Block roads are being constructed in tribal areas. In past days, only 46 thousand houses were constructed under PMAY but during the period of the present state government, houses have been arranged for 2 lakh 35 thousand beneficiaries at the cost of 1 lakh 30 thousand in building each house. Total expenditure will be 3,000 crore rupees, informed the Chief Minister. Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making it possible, he said, our Prime Minister loves Tripura just as he loves Gujarat.
Greeting everyone on the occasion of Buisu, the Chief Minister said, the Prime Minister has given importance to the welfare of the tribal people of the state and is allocating necessary funds. The tribals have got their various rights under the present government. But they needed to get their rights long ago. The Prime Minister wants Tripura to become a leading state in the country. In the next 5 years, Tripura will become the No. 1 state in the country. The government is working to fulfill this wish of the Prime Minister.
Minister of State for Tribal Affairs and Jal Shakti Bishweswar Tudu said, drinking water is being delivered from house to house in the state under Jal Jeevan Mission. The central government has also given importance to the development of education for the tribal students of the state. Eklavya Residential Model Schools are being built for this purpose. Other dignitaries present at the event were MP Rebati Tripura, MLA Diba Chandra Hrangkhawl, MLA Dhananjoy Tripura, MDC Hanskumar Tripura, MDC Sanjoy Das and others. The event was presided over by President of Tripura Chubalai Buthu Sachindra Tripura. Exhibition stalls have been opened in the two-day festival.
