Agartala Municipal Corporation to Host Sharad Samman for city clubs on January 16

The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) is gearing up to host its annual Sharad Samman program, scheduled for January 16 next, at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan. The much-awaited event will celebrate and honor exceptional contributions to the Sharad Utsav 2024.
Dignitaries to Grace the Event
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will inaugurate the program, accompanied by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee, and various AMC corporators. The event promises to be a grand affair, with Mayor Dipak Majumdar taking the lead in addressing the audience and presenting the awards.
Highlights of the Sharad Samman Awards
Mayor Dipak Majumdar, in a press conference held at the AMC conference hall, outlined the details of the program. The Sharad Samman Awards aim to recognize clubs and social organizations for their outstanding contributions to the Sharad Utsav celebrations. Winners were selected based on their efforts in puja management, creativity, and execution across several categories.

Recognition and Financial Support
The Mayor announced that the winning clubs would receive trophies and financial assistance of ₹50,000. Additionally, participating zonal clubs will be awarded ₹25,000 each along with trophies to acknowledge their efforts.
Promoting Cultural Unity
Mayor Majumdar emphasized the broader purpose of the Sharad Samman program, stating, “This tradition fosters unity among the citizens of Agartala. It motivates clubs to preserve and enhance cultural practices and contribute to the welfare of the community.”
Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, along with AMC officials and corporators from various wards, also participated in the press conference.
