Trinamool Congress seems to have embarked upon a paperwork-strategies to counter the ruling BJP in the ensuing by polls as on Wednesday the party released one more charge-sheet to highlight the failures of the ruling party. The Chargesheet focused more on the problems of the by-poll bound seats in particular though touched upon the issues relating to the entire state- misgovernance being the moot point.
The chargesheet sought to detail BJPs failure to deliver on the promises made in its 2018 manifesto. The issues included 10,323 terminated teachers to TTAADC areas.
Addressing a press conference at the Agartala Press Club, Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev said, “Through this chargesheet, we have exposed BJP’s claims. We wanted to show how BJP has not delivered on its promises. Our party will also release constituency-wise chargesheets this week to show how the BJP government has failed at all levels in the past 4.5 years.”
Dev said that the chargesheet was prepared on the basis on information collected from locals.
“We conducted a survey and people complained that under the present government there had been multiple issues such as a drinking water crisis, poor road infrastructure, and lack of street lights,” she said.
Trinamool Congress state president Subal Bhowmik said the party would make the full-fledged charge-sheet public after getting permission from the Election Commission.
“The BJP has not fulfilled a single promise made in the Vision Document. The unemployment rate in Tripura is 17.4 % which is much higher than the national average of 7.1%. BJP government had promised to build an AIIMS in Tripura in two years but we have not seen any update on it yet,” Bhowmik said.
“In the charge-sheet, we highlighted the local issues. After getting necessary permission from the Election Commission, we will distribute the full-fledged document,” Bhowmik told the reporters.
The charge-sheet of Jubarajnagar and Surma would be released on tomorrow (Thursday) or a day after, she said, adding that the party is yet to receive permission from the Election Commission for distribution of the document.
Two TMC nominated candidates- Panna Deb (Agartala) and Sanhita Banerjee (Town Bordowali) along with party’s youth leaders from West Bengal were present in the press conference.
