Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Sushmita Dev and some of the party members were assaulted and their vehicle damaged at Amtali Bazar at around 11.30 am. Dev alleged that the perpetrators of the violence were all BJP supporters. An FIR was lodged at the Amtali Police station.
The vehicle- one os the few that the TMC brought to Tripura for party campaign-was fully damaged in the attack.
Dev said, BJP says CPM is the main opposition in the state. But fact remains, CPM is not at all in the field and the attacks proved that we are here to chalenge the BJP.
She said undeterred by the assaults the TMC will continue with their political actvities in the state.
