Elections to Agartala Municipal Corporation  and other civic bodies will be held on November 25 next and results will be declared on November 28, informed Tripura State election Commissioner  M L Dey.

There are total 59,47,72 voters and they will cast their votes in 770 polling stations.

The Election Commissioner said, on October 27 Public notice relating to the elections will be issued and with that election process and also nomination submission will commence. The entire election process will be complete by December 4.

While nomination submission will start from October 27 itself they will be scrutinized on November 5. Last date for withdrawal is November 8 upto 3 pm.

With the announcement of the polls the Code of Conduct has come into force. If repoll is required it will be done on November 27.

Dey said, for the elections to the civic bodies adequate security arrangements would be made.

“We have held meeting with the police and other security forces and told our requirements. They assured us of adequate security arrangement for free and fail polls”, he said and appealed to all the electorate to cast their votes . “We hope the electors will cast their vote and maintain all Covid related restrictions”, he said.

Earlier, yesterday te State Election Commission held an all party meeting .
