Even as BJP is seriously considering alliance prospect with Tipra Motha in the next assembly elections the regional party’s chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma on Thursday said that the TIPRA would fight the polls out alone. He also made it clear that there would be no compromise with the TIPRA Motha demand of ‘Greater Tipraland’.
After unveiling the statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur at TTAADC headquarters at Kjumulwng Pradyot Kishore also exhorted the 19 tribal communities of the state to get united so that the fight for Greater Tipraland could gain momentum.
According to a press release issued by the TTAADC administration,
Pradyot Kishore said, “We will fight the upcoming Assembly polls alone and form Greater Tipraland. I am urging the 19 dafa Tiprasa to work together in the fight to achieve the constitutional rights by shunning conflicts”.
In this connection, he also stressed on successful completion of the works that Maharaja Bir Bikram had started in his time but could not finish.
Debbarman said Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya initiated several activities to transform the State into a modern State. However, many of his activities remained incomplete due to his untimely demise and emphasized finishing the incomplete tasks of the Maharaja.
Debbarma resented : “Maharaja Kirit Bikram donated 25 acres land to set up GB Hospital. However, the State governments made no reference to the donation of the Maharaja – neither by naming the hospital in Maharaja’s name nor by placing anything remembering the king”.
He also lamented that names of villages, hills, river, rivulets and haat Bazars had been changed into Bengali names from original Kokbarok names. Debbarma stressed restoring the original Kokbarok names.
