Three persons suspected by villagers as cattle lifters narrowly escaped lynching at Anandapur under Boxanagar area , Sepahijala district recently. Only recently five persons were lynched in Teliamura area for being suspected as cattle lifters.

In Boxanagar, however, they were beaten up and their vehicles were burnt. The incident took place near a Rubber plantation at Anandapur under Boxanagar on Tuesday late night.

Police acted promptly and rescued the three injured persons and got them admitted to Sonamura Hospital. Police registered a case and investigating the case.  

Sources said, some traders were trying to smuggle sacks of clothes to Bangladesh through Boxanagar bordering area. However, they aborted the plan. Later, they decided to move to Kamalnagar-Anandapur bordering area under Sonamura PS. For this purpose, they hired two Bolero Pick up vehicles and around 25 labourers.

After dropping the clothes and labourers at the border area, one of the two Bolero vehicles along with two labourers returned and parked near a Rubber garden at Anandapur.

Meanwhile, a group of unidentified cattle thieves stole five cattle belonging to Samir Roy and Ranjit Roy. As Samir and Ranjit Roy raised an alarm, locals started searching the cattle and they found the cattle in the rubber plantation tied with trees. Locals also noticed the presence of a Bolero Van and three persons including the driver. Immediately, angry villagers pulled out the three persons – identified as Dalim Mian, Suman Mian and Shahinul Haque – and started beating them suspecting these people to be involved in cattle lifting. Dalim Mian is the owner cum driver of the Bolero Van and hails from Putia area under Kalamchoura PS.
