Vulture is a patient bird, so said James Hadley Chase. And , true to the saying, he waited patiently on the ground, till the humans came. The vulture was terribly sick and was not in a position to flying. He was lying cool and calm and patient on the field at Alepsa area on the side of Khowai-Teliamura road. Then the two youths Sujit Gope and Dipatnu Debnath spotted the sick bird at. Well aware of present position of the almost extinct vulture population and government’s initiatives to save the endangered scavenger , the youths immediately took up the matter with the Khowai forest department.
Accordingly, the forest personnel rushed to the spot and brought it for treatment.
The vulture would be sent to the Sepahijala Zoo after treatment, an official of Kalyanpur forest department told reporters.
Forest officials said, it was in Kalyanpur area that some vulture committees were seen and government had taken all efforts to save them. Forest officials were all praise for the two youths who saved the bird.
