Close on the heels of CPM secretary Jitendra Choudhury’s allegations of corruption in the government entities and schemes Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Minister Sushanta Chowdhury came out with counter points and threw a challenge to the Marxist to probe his allegations.

Chowdhury said, if there is any corruption by ruling party workers, people should lodge FIR in the local police station. “Appropriate action would be taken if anyone was found guilty”, he added.

Addressing a press conference, Chowdhury referred to the MGNREGA scam of Bishalgarh Block and said large-scale irregularities took place during the era of LF government.

During the Left era, a cadre was seen sleeping on a bed of cash, he reminded the CPI-M state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury.

He said, to double the income of farmares, the state government is procuring paddy from the farmers at Minimum Support Price. Besides, the farmers are receiving benefits of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and Fasal Bima Yojana.
