ONGC Tripura Asset organized an interactive session with the first batch of ONGC’s Super 30 programme on Monday . ONGC Tripura Asset Manager Tarun Malik was present in the programme.
The lone Super 30 centre of Tripura sponsored by the CSR initiative of ONGC is functioning at Khayerpur in Agartala and the maiden course for the first batch has started from September 2021.
The ONGC in partnership with Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL) has taken forward the concept of providing access to quality education to country’s young students who are aspiring for a career in higher education but are however held back by their economic circumstances.
Addressing the programme, ONGC Tripura Asset Manager Tarun Malik lauded the spirit and confidence shown by the Super 30 students.
He said, the young students of the Super 30 programme would be able to realize their dreams with support of ONGC and, more importantly, would also inspire more students from economically disadvantaged families to dream of a brighter and better future for themselves.
“This is only just the beginning of your efforts to secure a promising and fulfilling career and we at ONGC are immensely happy to help you set the first step forward”, he said.
ONGC Super 30 is one of ONGC’s breakthrough CSR initiatives focused on education and youth development. The first ONGC Super 30 centre started at Sivasagar in Assam in 2014-15, and was followed by another in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. The two centres already trained hundreds of youths from economically and, mostly, socially disadvantaged sections of the societies, to appear in various entrance examinations.
Funded completely by ONGC through its CSR policy, the students have to bear no expenses on their own for this residential training program with experienced and expert teachers, supported by a capable support staff.
The organization is witnessing positive results for its investment in youth and education – since its inception in Assam, the programme helped 158 students get admission into India’s prestigious engineering colleges.
According to an official release, 34 students of the project have become IITians till now.
