Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb welcomes two students who were pursuing higher studies in presently war-ridden Ukraine, Megha Trivedi and Jasmine Debbarma. The two students returned safely to Tripura from war ravaged Ukraine.
Parents and guardians of both the students were also present during the meet.
The two students told the Chief Minister about their harrowing experience in Ukraine and as to how they courageously managed to stay calm and make their way to the border.
While speaking to the media, the Chief Minister lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in safely bringing back Indian students stranded in different borders of Ukraine because of the war between Russia and Ukraine. He said, many Indian students are being rescued in short span of timewith Prime Minister’s sincere efforts. I thank the Prime Minister for this. He also said, many students from Tripura are studying in Tripura. Efforts are continued to rescue all of them back safe and sound.
Earlier on the day, Sanjay Mishra, OSD to the Chief Minister, and Pratima Bhowmik, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, received the three students- Upasana Biswas, Megha Trivedi and Jasmine Debbarma on their arrival at Maharaja Bir Bikram airport, Agartala.
Later, the OSD on his official Facebook handle wrote that the Chief Minister was constantly in touch with the higher authorities to provide all the required helps to the students of Tripura stranded in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, another student from Belonia- Diptanu Baidya also returned home safe on Thursday. A few more students from South Tripura district, who already crossed the Ukraine border, are expected to reach Tripura in the next two-three days.
