SHEHBAZ ADMITS INDIAN ATTACK, ISRAEL SUPPORTS, USA MONITORING.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the nation, acknowledging the Indian military action. In a statement on X, he described the attacks as “cowardly” and affirmed Pakistan’s determination to respond. He remarked:
“The cunning enemy has carried out cowardly attacks on five locations in Pakistan. Pakistan has every right to respond forcefully to this act of war imposed by India, and a forceful response is being given.”

Prime Minister Sharif assured the Pakistani public that both the armed forces and the entire nation remained resilient and ready to face any challenges posed by the situation. He also stated that the morale and spirit of the nation remained high despite the aggression.

The Pakistani military, through the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), also confirmed the missile strikes, identifying the targeted locations as Kotli, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad. The ISPR described the strikes as an act of aggression amid heightened tensions between the two countries following the militant attack in Kashmir.

Amid the unfolding military action, Israel extended its support to India’s right to defend itself from terrorism. Reuven Azar, the Ambassador of Israel to India, stated on X, “Israel supports India’s right for self-defence. Terrorists should know there’s no place to hide from their heinous crimes against the innocent.” The endorsement underscores the global acknowledgment of India’s stance against terrorism, particularly in the wake of the brutal Pahalgam attack.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also stated that he is monitoring the situation between India and Pakistan closely. In a post on X, he said, “I am monitoring the situation between India and Pakistan closely. I echo @POTUS’s comments earlier today that this hopefully ends quickly and will continue to engage both Indian and Pakistani leadership towards a peaceful resolution.” Earlier, President Donald Trump acknowledged the Indian strikes, stating that they were expected and expressing hope that the situation would end quickly.
The Indian embassy in Washington reported that India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval briefed Secretary of State Rubio on the strikes. According to the embassy, “Shortly after the strikes, NSA Shri Ajit Doval spoke with US NSA and Secretary of State Marco Rubio and briefed him on the actions taken.”

President Trump, speaking at the White House, remarked, “It’s a shame. We just heard about it as we were walking through the doors of the Oval… They’ve been fighting for a long time. … I just hope it ends very quickly.”
State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce reiterated the US stance, calling the situation “a dynamic, serious issue” and urging both countries to work towards long-term peace and regional stability in South Asia.
