A two days national seminar on the Indian Freedom Movement and the North East Bharat with special reference to Tripura organized by the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE), Kunjaban, Agartala ended here on Thursday.
With the sponsorship of the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), New Delhi and academic cooperation from Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Tripura Prant, the seminar was held on May 11 and 12, 2022 at Pragna Bhawan, Gurkhabasti.
The Chief Guest for the inaugural session was Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice-Chancellor, Tripura University.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Balmukund Pandey, Organising Secretary, Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana, New Delhi.
The Special Guest for the occasion was Chandni Chandran, IAS, Director of School Education, Tripura and Dr. Pravin Sharma, Assistant Director (Research) of ICHR, New Delhi was the Guest of Honour at the inaugural session.
The two days seminar was attended by eminent academicians, research scholars, students and teachers.
The first day of the seminar was attended by 2 school teachers each from 18 schools in Agartala.
The academic deliberations in the seminar were enriching and the objectives of the seminar were attained.
The names of many unsung heroes who participated in the Indian freedom movement or laid down their lives came forth during the seminar.
Several aspects of life and society like literature, culture, language, art forms, socio–economic, political which were influenced by the Indian freedom movement and which in turn influenced the Indian freedom movement to a great extent were also revealed during the academic deliberations during the seminar. The seminar ended on May 12 with a valedictory session.
Dr. Ratna Roy, Principal, IASE, Kunjaban was the Event President of the occasion while Dr. Chandana Bhowmik, Assistant Professor, IASE, Kunjaban was the Convenor and Nandita Majumder, Assistant Professor, IASE, Kunjaban was the Joint Convenor of the seminar.
