
Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in the state on Thursday for a six-day visit.
He was warmly welcomed by Sangh workers after his arrival at MBB Airport on Thursday.
Amid tight security, Bhagwat travelled to Sevadham near Khayerpur Bypass in a bullet proof vehicle from the airport. He is expected to stay at Sevadham for the duration of his visit.
Meanwhile, Khayerpur Sevadham he attended a training programme for RSS cadres and karyakartas from the eight states in the northeast region which commenced from May 18.
Trainees from the Northeastern region, including Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Assam, are actively participating in this program. The class is being conducted by Kshetra Sanghchalak Dr. Umesh Chakraborty.
A total of 152 students, 30 teachers, and 40 other individuals are part of this initiative.
As many 14 such training camps would be held across the country in the coming months which Bhagwat and RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale will attend.
As per sources, the RSS chief will also hold meetings with the cabinet ministers and MLAs of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and frame strategies to strengthen the organization in the state.
