RKM Viveknagar in Tripura distributed monthly ration kits to widowed women under its “Shraddha” initiative, supporting economically vulnerable mothers through humanitarian welfare activities inspired by the ideals of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda.
In a humanitarian effort aimed at supporting economically vulnerable women, the Ramakrishna Mission at Viveknagar in Tripura distributed monthly ration kits to widowed women under its “Shraddha” initiative. The programme was organised to provide assistance to mothers who often struggle with financial insecurity and social neglect within their families and communities.
According to organisers, the initiative specifically focuses on widowed women who face difficulties in meeting daily household needs due to limited income and lack of support. Hundreds of beneficiaries from various localities received ration kits containing essential food items meant to sustain a family for one month.
The distribution drive was conducted by the Viveknagar Ashrama as part of its continuing humanitarian and welfare activities in the region. Officials associated with the programme said the ashrama has consistently worked to extend help to people in need despite operating with limited resources.
Representatives of the organisation stated that such initiatives are intended to provide dignity, care, and social support to women who are often overlooked in society. They added that the “Shraddha” initiative reflects the mission’s commitment to serving underprivileged sections of society through practical assistance and community outreach programmes.
The organisers also highlighted that the continuation of these welfare efforts is inspired by the teachings and ideals of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda. Their philosophy of selfless service and compassion continues to guide the organisation’s social initiatives across different communities.
