The incumbent government has given importance to quality education in the state. The main slogan of the government is Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura; Aatmanirbhar Tripura and Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, said Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath after inaugurating the new building of Srirampur Sutjamani Memorial Higher Secondary School in Chandipur under Kailashar sub-division on Friday.
The building was constructed at a cost of Rs 2 crone 44 lath 18 thousand 434.
He said, the government is implementing several work plans phase wise for the overall development of the state. A total of 31,263 teachers have already gone through the training and 10 schools have been brought under Vidyajyoti scheme in Unakoti district.
Besides, 135 schools of the state were changed from Bengali to English Medium Schools, 4 Madrasas have been changed to English Medium Schools. Master Degree in Bengali has been introduced in 6 colleges, 4 M.Tech courses have started in TIT.
He continued and said, ‘Mother on Campus’ initiative has started in hostels, bicycles are being given to girl students of class 9.The state soon will have a Law University, added Education Minister.
Labour Minister Bhagaban Chandra Das said, students are the future of the nation. Education guides the path towards development. Sabhadhipati of Unakoti Zila Parishad Amalendu Das, MLA Sudhangshu Das, Unakoti District Magistrate Uttam Kumar Chakma also have delivered their speech in the programme.
Education Minister also inaugurated souvenir and documentary of the school. Nath also inspected DIET in Kailashahar today.
