Rashmika Mandanna reveals how the hit song “Tum Mere Na Huye” from Thamma was shot spontaneously in just a few days. She praises the crew’s hard work and shares behind-the-scenes moments ahead of the film’s Diwali 2025 release.
Bollywood star Rashmika Mandanna, who continues to captivate audiences with her infectious energy and charisma, has opened up about the making of the peppy dance number “Tum Mere Na Huye, Na Sahi” — the first track from her much-awaited film Thamma. The song, which features Rashmika alongside Ayushmann Khurrana, has already become a talking point for its vibrant choreography and visually stunning backdrop.
In a recent Instagram post, the Animal actress revealed that the song wasn’t even part of the original shoot schedule. The idea to film it came spontaneously toward the end of a demanding shooting schedule. Rashmika wrote, “The story behind this song is that we were shooting at a very very stunning location for about 10-12 days and on the last day our producers and our director suddenly had a banging idea where they went like… ‘Wait, why don’t we shoot a song here?’ It’s a crazy cool location, so why not? And I was like — why not! And in about three to four days, we made all of this possible.”
The actress further shared that the team was pleasantly surprised by the outcome once the shoot wrapped up. “Watching it at the end, we were massively surprised,” she added with laughter and heart emojis. Her excitement was evident as she credited the film’s crew for pulling off the impromptu dance number in record time.
Rashmika didn’t miss the chance to thank every department that contributed to making the track a visual treat. “A big, big shout out to all the dancers, the costume department, the set guys, the lights department, the direction department, the production department… everyone! This song was possible because of your hard work,” she wrote, adding that the characters Tadaka and Alok, featured in the song, were brought to life by the dedicated efforts of the entire team.
She continued, “I hope you love them, feel them, dance with them, and enjoy watching them.” Her words reflect her deep appreciation for the collaborative spirit that drives big Bollywood productions.
Earlier, while speaking about the experience of shooting “Tum Mere Na Huye, Na Sahi,” Rashmika mentioned that it was one of the most fun-filled moments of her filming journey. “Definitely one of the most fun songs I’ve shot for. The choreography, the music, the beats, the set — everything is just full heart! I hope you all like it and enjoy it as much as I did while shooting for it,” she said.
The track’s colorful visuals and catchy rhythm are already being hailed as a potential chart-topper. Fans have praised Rashmika’s effortless dance moves and chemistry with Ayushmann Khurrana, making it one of the most anticipated songs of the season.
Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, features a powerhouse ensemble cast including Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal in key roles. The film promises to blend drama, emotion, and entertainment in equal measure.
