Ending all speculations and wait Rajib Bhattacharjee ,  vice president of the state unit of the BJP has been appointed as the new BJP president. A letter in this regard from nparty’s headquarters has been received by received by the state unit here on Thursday noon. 

The appointment of the new president became necessary as the incumbent president Dr manik Saha became the Chief Minister. Now under Bhattacharjee, a veteran and old school BJP activist, the party will got to assembly polls in early next year.

Bhattacharjee also happened to be the chairman of Khadi Board of the state.

There were several names floating for the position but ultimately Bhattacharjee was chosen for the coveted position.

He is known to be close to former Chief Ministerr Biplab Kumar Deb.

Soon after his name was announced Bhattacharjee went to meet Deb at his residence. 

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha , former Chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb, and all other senior party functionaries congratulated Bhattacharjee for being appointed as the new president. They all expressed their satisfaction assured the new party unit chief of all cooperations and support.
