Peeved at the way  Patal Kanya Jamatia- who joined the BJP on Sunday with her followers of TPF- sought to down play the TIPRA Motha and its Greater Tipraland demand, TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya reacted sharply and said with her remarks- which appeared to be BJP’s official statement- the possibility of any alliance with the party in future was unlikely.

He was specifically upset with the remark that TIPRA Motha ‘is a small party’.

In a video message Pradyot Kishore said his party might be a small one but not corrupt and there would be no compromise with the demand of Greater Tipraland.

He said, the new BJP leader had made a statement that regional parties were small and that Tipra Motha would not be able to survive for long and the constitutional demand for Greater Tipraland would never happen.

“So, I guess this is official position of BJP. They have a much bigger and stronger organization. We are a small regional party. If BJP is such a big party in Tripura, I think, they should prepare to fight in all 60 seats; we will fight in 30-35 seats ourselves. And, let’s see who wins in the end,” the Tipra Motha chief stated.

“We may be a small regional player but let me tell you one thing; we are not corrupt, we are not here to compromise and we are not going to let BJP have a day. If they are ready to fight, Tipra Motha will answer them on the ground,” he said in the video message.

With this statement, he also said that there would be ‘no possibility of alliance in future’.
