Discussions with Mistral AI, Alstom, and Saint-Gobain focused on investments, innovation, job creation, and strengthening India’s position as a global economic powerhouse.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met several prominent global CEOs and business leaders in Paris, emphasizing the vast opportunities available in India’s rapidly growing innovation, manufacturing, mobility, and technology sectors. The meetings came after the Prime Minister concluded a successful round of engagements at the G7 Summit in Evian, France, and arrived in Paris for a series of high-level interactions aimed at strengthening economic and strategic partnerships.

Upon his arrival in the French capital, PM Modi received a warm welcome from members of the Indian diaspora. Expressing gratitude for their contribution towards strengthening ties between India and France, the Prime Minister said that the partnership between the two nations remains vital for global progress.

One of the key meetings was with Arthur Mensch, Co-founder and CEO of Mistral AI, a leading artificial intelligence company. During the discussion, PM Modi highlighted the immense opportunities emerging within India’s growing AI ecosystem. The talks focused on innovation, technological collaboration, and expanding artificial intelligence capabilities in partnership with Indian enterprises.

According to Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, Mensch expressed Mistral AI’s strong interest in collaborating with India and partnering with Indian companies to accelerate innovation and support the development of advanced AI solutions.

The Prime Minister also held discussions with Martin Sion, CEO of Alstom, a global leader in mobility and rail transport solutions. The meeting focused on opportunities in railway modernisation and sustainable mobility infrastructure.

PM Modi acknowledged Alstom’s substantial investments and manufacturing presence in India, noting that the company’s activities have contributed significantly to job creation and the expansion of India’s railway sector. Sion shared Alstom’s plans for further expansion and investments, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to India’s infrastructure growth.

In another important engagement, PM Modi met Benoit Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Saint-Gobain. Discussions centered on opportunities in the materials and construction sector, particularly with regard to sustainability and environmentally responsible development.

The Prime Minister praised Saint-Gobain’s strong presence in India and highlighted the role of its investments in generating employment opportunities for Indian youth. Bazin outlined the company’s future investment plans and expansion strategy in the country, signaling confidence in India’s economic growth trajectory.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi underscored the importance of the India-France partnership, describing it as crucial for the progress of the planet. In a post on social media platform X, he stated that he was proud of the Indian diaspora’s efforts in bringing the two nations closer together.

The Prime Minister’s Paris visit also includes an address at VivaTech 2026, one of Europe’s largest technology and innovation conferences. His participation is expected to showcase India’s rapidly expanding digital economy and vibrant startup ecosystem. Additionally, he is scheduled to interact with members of the Indian diaspora, highlighting their important role in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering deeper people-to-people connections.
