They think their village has now come under the spell of apparitions and as the evil spirits are having a field night ( and often day too), they felt it prudent to leave their hamlet – Senpara under Raishyabari block in Gandachhera sub-division. In fact, the phasmophobia is running deep among the villagers — 45 families belonging to the Chakma community—that administrative officers are also finding it difficult to convince them.  The villagers argue that –it was not a single ghost, but also a group of ghosts- who cast their evil spell over the village. Now the eerie silence is palpable and people are scared.

The villagers claimed ghost panic has led to the deaths of two inhabitants in recent times.

As the report of the ghost scare reached the sub-divisional office, a team led by SDM Arindam Das reached the village. They tried to dispel the panic and assured all sorts of assistance to the villagers.

There are also demand that people of science must visit the village and convince the villagers with scientific proof that there is nothing called ghost or evil spirit that they fear of.
