North Tripura administration reviews progress of livelihood programmes, focusing on SHG saturation, NFC machinery deployment, and Producer Group formation to strengthen rural income generation, women empowerment, and sustainable development across all blocks during the current financial year.

North Tripura district administration on Saturday conducted a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of various livelihood and development programmes being implemented during the current financial year. The meeting was chaired by District Magistrate and Collector Chandni Chandran and witnessed the participation of the Additional District Magistrate and Collector, along with representatives from all eight Block Mission Management Units (BMMUs) led by respective Block Development Officers (BDOs).

The primary objective of the meeting was to evaluate achievements, identify gaps, and streamline implementation strategies for ongoing livelihood initiatives aimed at strengthening rural income generation and ensuring inclusive economic growth. Senior officials presented block-wise progress reports, highlighting key interventions undertaken so far.

A major focus of the review was the saturation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across all blocks of the district. Officials emphasized that SHG saturation plays a crucial role in empowering rural women, promoting financial inclusion, and enhancing household income through collective economic activities. The District Magistrate stressed the need for rigorous grassroots-level monitoring to ensure that no eligible households are left out of the SHG network.

The procurement and deployment of NFC machinery also featured prominently in the discussions. Officials noted that the introduction of modern machinery is expected to boost agricultural productivity, reduce manual labor, and improve efficiency in post-harvest processes. The administration underscored the importance of timely installation and optimal utilization of these assets to maximize benefits for rural communities.

Another significant area reviewed was the formation and strengthening of Producer Groups (PGs). These groups are designed to enable small producers and farmers to engage in collective procurement, processing, and marketing of agricultural and non-agricultural products. Officials highlighted that Producer Groups help improve market access, ensure better price realization, and promote sustainable resource management at the community level.

Officials expressed confidence that the integrated approach focusing on SHG expansion, technology-driven productivity, and collective enterprise development will significantly improve rural livelihoods in North Tripura. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive development and sustainable economic growth through effective implementation of livelihood programmes.
