Tripura CM Dr. Saha emphasizes AIIMS-level healthcare, eye hospital, and last-mile welfare delivery. Pattas were distributed to tea workers, and digital governance, rural development, and income growth were highlighted as part of the vision for Viksit Bharat 2047.
The state of Tripura is witnessing a transformative phase under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, who has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to holistic development and inclusive governance. Speaking at an administrative camp at Tufania Lunga Tea Garden in Bamutia, Dr. Saha outlined several initiatives aimed at achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat, ensuring last-mile delivery of government services, and enhancing the quality of life for all citizens, especially marginalized communities.
As part of the event, the Chief Minister distributed land pattas to 82 families of tea garden workers under the Mukhyamantri Cha Shramik Kalyan Yojana—a welfare scheme designed to uplift the socio-economic status of tea workers. The camp also saw the inauguration of awareness rallies as part of an anti-narcotics campaign, along with the organization of blood donation camps, legal support services, healthcare camps, and the distribution of agricultural equipment. A large-scale tree plantation drive was also launched, reinforcing the government’s commitment to sustainable development.
Highlighting the administration’s focus on strengthening public health infrastructure, Dr. Saha announced that the state government is actively working to provide AIIMS-level healthcare facilities in Tripura. In a major step towards this goal, plans are underway to establish a 100-bed, state-of-the-art tertiary eye hospital adjacent to the ILS Hospital in Agartala. This initiative is expected to significantly improve tertiary eye care in the region, reducing the need for patients to travel outside the state for advanced treatments.

Dr. Saha stressed the importance of transparent and accountable governance in the development process. He mentioned the success of the Proti Ghore Susashan (Good Governance at Every Household) campaign, which was launched on September 17, 2022, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The campaign has already reached over 23 lakh people, ensuring the delivery of various benefits from both central and state government schemes.
“Our government is not just focused on constructing big buildings; we aim to ensure holistic development that touches every aspect of people’s lives—be it education, healthcare, roads, or digital communication,” Dr. Saha said.
He added that the government is also focused on enhancing rural connectivity and the quality of life in villages and towns across the state. This includes investments in infrastructure and public services that are crucial for long-term socio-economic development.
Referring to the significant progress in the agricultural sector, Dr. Saha noted that the average income of farmers in Tripura has seen a substantial rise—from ₹6,580 in 2016 to ₹13,590 at present. The government’s consistent efforts to double farmers’ incomes reflect its dedication to the welfare of the agrarian community.

In terms of digital governance, Tripura is now among the few Indian states to achieve paperless governance across administrative levels—from the cabinet to district and panchayat levels. Initiatives such as the Amar Sarkar portal and CM Helpline have made governance more accessible and responsive to the common people.
Speaking specifically on the welfare of tea workers, Dr. Saha reiterated that their development remains a special priority for the government. Since coming to power, the government has focused on improving the socio-economic conditions of this historically underserved community. As part of this mission, 241 land pattas have already been distributed in the Mohanpur subdivision under the Tea Workers Welfare Project.
The event witnessed participation from several key dignitaries, including Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad’s Acting Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil, Chairman of the Tripura Tea Development Corporation Samir Ranjan Ghosh, Bamutia Panchayat Samiti Chairman Dipak Kumar Singh, Additional District Magistrate Megha Jain, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Mohanpur Subhash Dutta.
With a clear focus on inclusive development, good governance, and improved healthcare, the Tripura government continues to take decisive steps towards building a Viksit Bharat by 2047, in alignment with the vision set forth by the Prime Minister.
