The National Assembly of Nepal passed the Appropriation Bill 2082 today. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel tabled a proposal seeking endorsement of the ‘Appropriation Bill, 2082,’ which was passed by a majority of the National Assembly meeting. Before this, a theoretical discussion took place in the assembly on the proposal stating that the upcoming fiscal year’s budget was implementable and balanced.
The Nepal government has proposed a total budget of NPR 1.96411 trillion for the fiscal year 2025-26. This budget aims to support economic recovery and development. The budget includes allocations for recurrent expenditure, capital expenditure, and financial management. The government had presented the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, Bikram Samvat 2082/83, in a joint meeting of the Federal Parliament on May 29. The next meeting of the NA is scheduled for Sunday
