As the BJP maintains its winning spree in an expected line, one important fact surfaces in the results so far declared that Trinamool Congress despite all hype and claims fails to sway it main vote plank- the muslims. The West Bengal exercise came a cropper in Tripura as the Muslims electors–both in Sonamura and Kailasahar where they are determining factors in many wards- clearly voted for the BJP.

In Sonamura in as many as 4 wards TMC relegated to third position. In one ward an Independent fielded by BMS came to second position. While In Sonamura BJP maintained the lead and won, CPM managed to remain in second position despite defeat—squeezing out the TMC.

Kailasahar also threw up similar experience. In all the Muslim voter dominated wards BJP maintained its victorious sway.

On the other hand in AMC ward 5 where Shyamal Pal was a candidate for the TMC came to third position. This result, as the observers point out, serves a blow to the disgruntled BJP leader Sudip Roy Barman, because it was widely believed that Pal an influential businessman of GB Bazar area  and also a close confidante of Roy Barman was handpicked by him to fight fort the TMC.

Hitherto declared results throws up a clear picture where TMC miserably failed to make a mark in Tripura as its first footfall.
