Rizu Saha of Tripura has been included in the Indian team in the Senior Women’s Challenger Trophy one-day cricket tournament.
Rizu Saha of Tripura has been selected for the India-‘C’ team.
No sooner than the news came in it created a pleasant sensation in the state and all conveyed their happiness and good wishes for Rizu.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb wrote in his social media post, “Loads of congratulations to daughter of the State, Riju Saha for getting a place in the Indian Women’s Cricket Senior (C) team. I pray to God for his bright future.”
The All-India Women’s Selection Committee has selected 60 cricketers from across the country and divided them into four teams. These four teams will clash against each other in the women challengers’ trophy. The tournament will be held at DVR Ground in Vijayawada from December 4-9 next.
Tripura’s Tanisha Das played under-19 Challenger Trophy cricket earlier in the session.
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath wished her good luck. The Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) also congratulated her.
TCA president Dr Manik Saha and secretary Timir Chanda congratulated Rizu Saha for the selection. Both of them wished huge amount of success for Riju for the tournament.
The India C team will be led Goa’s Shikha Pandey while Muskan Malik from Uttar Pradesh will be her deputy.
Along with Rizu Saha, the other cricketers selected for India C team are Shipra Giri, Shweta Verma from Uttar Pradesh, Tarannam Pathan and Radha Yadav from Baroda, Aarti Devi from Jharkhand, C Pratyusha from Karnataka, Anushka Sharma from Madhya Pradesh, Kasbi Gautam from Chandigarh, Priyanka Gadkhede from Maharashtra, Dhara Gujjar from West Bengal, Priya Punia from Delhi and Aishwarya from Chhattisgarh.
