Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has clarified that a minimum balance is not required for PM Jandhan accounts and basic savings bank deposit accounts. She was replying to a supplementaries during question hour in Rajya Sabha over charges recovered by various banks from account holders for non-maintenance of minimum balance.
Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary has stated that the government has a zero-tolerance policy for financial fraud. He also informed various measures being taken by banks and RBI to minimize financial fraud.
