In Manipur, the 75th State Level Van Mahotsav was celebrated today at Lamdeng Makha Leikai under the Imphal West district. As part of the celebration, the State Forest and Environment Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh led others in a tree plantation drive in which around two thousand seedlings were planted to make a greener future.
The celebration was held under the theme ‘Ek Ped- Maa ki naam pe’ and the participants including many students along with their mother took a pledge under LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment). An awareness campaign called ‘Know your Tree’ was also launched by the State Forest Department during the celebration to provide information on important trees across Imphal City with creative signages on the trees.
The State Level Van Mahotsav celebration was attended by MLA, top officials from various departments, police, CRPF, representatives from Civil Society Organisations and local elected members.
