A Life skill development training for adolescent girls under Chawmanu ICDS Project was conducted with the initiative of Chawmanu CDPO office on November 23 for their better grooming. A large number of adolescent girls is discovered to be living under Chawmanu block compared to other parts of the state. Various assistances and additional aid in different manner have been provided to them through implementation of different projects and schemes by the respective departments. As many as 75 adolescent girls took part in the programme and were mentored by CDPO Dipal Lal Saha, ICDS Supervisors Binod Debbarma, Biswajit Chakma and Ramamukhi Chakma. AWC workers of Chawmanu ICDS project also joined in the programme.
As a motivational measure, the participants were taken to visit few sites starting with the office of the Chawmanu Block Development Officer. Then they were taken to Chawmanu Community Health Centres then to the Chawmanu Police Station and lastly to Punjab National Bank, Chawmanu Branch. The respective officials interacted and illustrated about various departmental and office activities.
