In view of the vastness and scattered places, the authorities of Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Leh district of Ladakh have formed four teams of scientists of KVK and officers of line departments to run the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan in different villages. There are two Krishi Vigyan Kendras in Leh district. KVK Leh has formed three teams, while KVK Nyoma has formed one team to visit every village for Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan. Nodal Officer of Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, Dr Feroz Din Sheikh, said, three teams formed by KVK Leh will cover 60 villages of 16 blocks of Leh District during the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan. He further said the team has been assigned to interact daily with 300 farmers by visiting four villages to achieve the target of 4500 beneficiaries during the outreach campaign, which will conclude on June 12.
The KVK Nyoma, which caters to the needs of two subdivisions, namely Nyoma and Tangtse on the India-China border, has been assigned to run the campaign in all 23 vibrant villages of the two subdivisions on the border. In the Campaign, Scientists and officials of Line departments are disseminating information on improved agricultural technologies, integrated Pest Management, agroforestry, Natural Farming, Government government-sponsored Schemes. This outreach campaign is conceptualised strategically for direct connection between farmers at the grassroots level of rural, border areas and underserved regions and scientists of the agricultural and allied sectors.
