Yarraji, positioned in the lane next to Wu, followed suit.

Both athletes were initially deemed to have false-started, a decision that Yarraji opposed vehemently.

Following an extensive discussion with officials, Yarraji and Wu were allowed to compete under review.

While Yarrajis start was slower than usual, she made up ground in the middle of the race, ultimately finishing third with a time of 12.91 seconds.

The official declaration of results was delayed as the review process continued.

Eventually, Yarraji was awarded the silver medal, and Wu was disqualified in accordance with TR16.8, the rule governing false starts.
