In men’s cricket, India will face South Africa in the second T20 match of the series at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, today. The match will begin at 7 PM Indian Time.
This will be the maiden men’s international cricket match in Mullanpur. Suryakumar Yadav-led Men in Blue are currently leading the five-match series 1-0, following a massive win over the visitors in the series opener on Tuesday.
The return of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has further strengthened the side. Pandya was the Player of the Match in the first T20 in Cuttack for his impactful performance. Vice-captain Shubman Gill has also returned to the team.
Indian bowlers showcased exceptional performance in Cuttack, restricting South Africa to just 74 runs in response to a target of 176 set by the hosts. Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel each took two wickets. The team will look to continue the same performance in Mullanpur to gain a winning lead in the series.
The third match of the series will be held in Dharamsala, the fourth in Lucknow, and the final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
